SUMMER 2025 YOUTH CLASSES

In-Person Summer 2025 Youth Classes  

$10 discount on any class when you register prior to June 1. This allows teachers enough time for planning and preparation of any necessary materials. MONDAY

Drawing to Painting (9-12 years)

Instructor: Lyndsay Murphree

Get creative this summer with paint, pastel, clay, and more! Your instructor will bring an idea to start with each week – you just need to bring your imagination. Together we will explore and combine materials to create BOLD, beautiful, one of a kind works of art! All materials included. 

When: 6/16-7/2 (6)

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Cost: $253


Drawing to Painting (12-14 years)

Independent Study Add-On: Older students interested in building on the skills above are invited to participate in our Drawing to Painting class, plus stay for an extra 30 minutes to receive additional instruction on independent projects/compositions. 

When: 6/16-7/2 (6)

Time: 4:30-6:30pm

Cost: $278


TUESDAY

Mixed Media Fun! (5-10 year-olds) 

Instructor: Miss Sam

This fun class allows students to experiment with a variety of mediums, while learning different techniques. Learning to use various mediums allows the students to experiment and be exposed to many processes… all appropriate for creating at many age levels. Projects may include painting, clay, sculpture, collage and more!  

When: 6/17-8/5 (8)

Time: 4:30-5:45pm

Cost: $309


WEDNESDAY

Clayworks for Kids (8-12 year olds)

Instructor: Calin Day

Working with clay is an excellent activity for kids – using their hands to create something meaningful from an unformed mass of wet clay! We’ll be using a variety of hand-building techniques including coils, slabs, and pinch pots, and more! Your child will also explore stamps, textures, glaze painting, carving, sculpting, storing clay, and other fundamental aspects of ceramics while working in our creative spaces. New demonstrations and fun each week!!

When: 6/18-8/6 (8)

Time: 4:30-6:00 pm

Cost: $309


ANY DAY----Independent Study    NSAL Faculty

Private, one-on-one instruction and critique for those wanting personalized attention. Time is flexible. Schedule one lesson or a series. Cost: $75 per hour.

Drawing to Painting (8-11 years)

Instructor: Lyndsay Murphree

This class will help your artists develop drawing skills. Perspective, composition, shapes and shadows all come into play before you put paint on canvas. Artists will move into painting with that fundamental knowledge and learn color mixing and basic techniques to create their own paintings! 

When: 3/31-6/9 (10)

No class 5/26 

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Meet the Masters (7-12-year-olds) 

Instructor: Samantha Younis

Students will create artworks inspired by famous artists, while exploring and learning various techniques (and some art history along the way!) Mediums may include: paint, clay, sculpture, collage, sketch. A great chance to delve into creativity while learning of great masters’ ideas, processes and what made them such amazing visionaries. 

When: 4/1-6/10 (11)

Time: 4:30-5:45

Cost: $393

No class: 4/19, 5,17, 5/24

Time: 10:30am-12:00pm
