SPRING 2026 YOUTH CLASSES

In-Person Spring 2026 Youth Classes  

$10 discount on any class when you register prior to March 13. This allows teachers enough time for planning and preparation of any necessary materials. If you know you want to take a class with us this spring, take advantage of this special discount – it helps us plan and it helps you save money! Click on the blue links to register. The NSAL provides a creative, nurturing environment. Research shows that participation in the arts at a young age helps children in all areas of learning.


MONDAY

Kids’ Hand-Building with Clay

Instructor: Miss Sam

This is an introductory class focusing on a variety of hand building techniques… many designed for giving your child a choice of projects! We’ll explore pinch pots, slabs, and coils to create functional and non-functional works of art. So many fun projects to take home and enjoy!

When: 4/6-6/1 (8)

No class 5/25

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Drawing to Painting (8-11 years)

Instructor: Lyndsay Murphree

This class will help your artists develop drawing skills. Perspective, composition, shapes and shadows all come into play before you put paint on canvas. Artists will move into painting with that fundamental knowledge and learn color mixing and basic techniques to create their own paintings! 

When: 4/6-6/1 (8)

No class 5/25

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Cost: $312


Drawing to Painting- Extended Time: Independent Study for 12-14 year olds

Spend an extra 30 minutes with Lyndsay, working on your more advanced level in a more one-on-more atmosphere! 

Additional $50.

Time: Ends at 6:30pm

TUESDAY

Meet the Masters (7-12 year-olds) 

Instructor: Miss Sam

Students will create artworks inspired by famous artists, while exploring and learning various techniques (and some art history along the way!) Mediums may include: paint, clay, sculpture, collage, sketch. A great chance to delve into creativity while learning of great masters’ ideas, processes and what made them such amazing visionaries. 

When: 4/7-6/2 (9)

Time: 4:30-5:45pm

Cost: $341


WEDNESDAY

Clayworks for Kids (8-12 year olds)

Instructor: Lyndsay Murphree

Working with clay is an excellent activity for kids – using their hands to create something meaningful from an unformed mass of wet clay! We’ll be using a variety of hand-building techniques including coils, slabs, and pinch pots, and more! Your child will also explore stamps, textures, glaze painting, carving, sculpting, storing clay, and other fundamental aspects of ceramics while creating their works in a supportive and safe space. New demonstrations and fun each week!!

When: 4/8-6/3 (9)

Time: 4:30-6:00pm

Cost: $366


THURSDAY

Mixed Media FUN! For 6–12-year-olds

Instructor: Miss Sam

This fun class allows students to experiment with a variety of mediums, while learning different techniques. Learning to use various mediums allows the students to experiment and be exposed to many processes… all appropriate for creating at many age levels.  Projects may include painting, clay, sculpture, collage and more!  

When: 4/9-6/4 (9)

Time: 4:30-5:45pm

POP-Up! Art Studio (5-8 years)

Instructor: Miss Sam

Using a variety of materials, young artists work on projects that encourage children to use their imagination as they draw, paint, sculpt, and make prints, collages and more. Each week
students will create a project inspired by a different artist.

SATURDAY

Saturday Morning Artists (7-11 years)    

Instructor: Lyndsay Murphree

Faces, places, animals and nature- let your imaginations run free! This class is for students who love to draw, paint, sculpt, and want to explore different materials and techniques.

When: 4/11-6/13 (7)

No class: 4/25, 5/9, 5/23 

Time: 10:30am-12:00pm 

Cost: $283 


ANY DAY----Independent Study    NSAL Faculty

Private, one-on-one instruction and critique for those wanting personalized attention. Time is flexible. Schedule one lesson or a series. Cost: $75 per hour.
