About Us
The North Shore Art League promotes interest in the visual arts on the North Shore through:
- classes, lectures, workshops, and birthday parties
- exhibit opportunities for local artists
- festivals and exhibitions
- scholarships
The League was founded in 1924, and has its spacious, skylilt studio on the second floor of the Winnetka Community House. In addition, we offer a fully equipped printmaking studio. Over the years nearly 20,000 students have taken classes at the North Shore Art League. Prominent faculty has included LeRoy Neiman, Franz Schulze, and Robert Natkin among others.
In addition to classes, the League sponsors highly regarded art exhibits annually including the "Art on the Plaza" juried fine arts show held in the summer at the historic Plaza del Lago in Wilmette.
